punishment for theft in Islam


 ?What is the definition of theft in Islam-

Theft is stealing other people's property if the owner has placed it in Haraz (Haraz means the place where you keep your property safe from being stolen) .

- In which cases the punishment for the thief will not be considered?

1 If the thief is the father of the property owner. (Article 198. Paragraph 11) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)
2 If the Place of storing the property have been usurped from the thief (Article 198. Article 13) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)
3 - Thief hasn't reached the religious puberty. (Article 198. Paragraph 1) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)  
4 – Thief had been threatened or forced to steal the property. (Article 198. Paragraph 3) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)

 
- What's the punishment for theft in Islam?

A - In the first order cutting off four fingers of right hand of the thief, so his thumb and his palm remain. 
B - The second time, cutting off four toes of the left foot of the thief. 
C - The third time, imprisonment for life. (Article 201) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)
After cutting off the thief's fingers, if another theft which is occurred before is proved, his left foot will be cut off. (Article 202) (Rules of Islamic punishment) (Islamic penance)
